Kapayim Services

Kapayim is an organization that has been founded on the premise of the passuk "al kapayim yisauncha" – on the palm of their hands you will be carried.
With a member base of more than 850 people strong, they service patients and families suffering from medical illness daily, discreetly, and with the utmost care given to the family’s dignity.
The Kapayim solution ensures that complete and total care is offered to support the family unit during a medical crisis.

Hospital based – Trained members of the Kapayim network are carefully matched to their patients, and are scheduled on recurring shifts for the same patient, which allows them time to bond at every visit.
Each volunteer arrives with carefully selected, researched activities to stimulate and occupy their patients. Whether it is a carnival in a bag, donut machines, age-appropriate educational material, art projects relating to the upcoming parshah and yomim tovim, patients are riveted to the fascinating activities and forget their pain for a while.

Home based – In order to strengthen and solidify the foundation of a family, Kapayim sends carefully selected members of their network to cover shifts at patient homes to help maintain household routine, so that the trauma of illness does not take its toll on the home atmosphere. Meals, cleaning help, clothing shopping, private tutoring, groceries and help with morning and bedtime routines are all part of what maintains home stability.

Center based - A home and headquarters that offers a supervised sterile safe place for patients to come to on their off days from treatment. The Cabin is also an after-school haven for siblings and children of patients. There are currently 3 locations: Boro Park, Williamsburg, and Monsey.
The Kapayim Class, a one-of- a-kind sterile classroom, for immunocompromised preschool children, is also located here.

The Tehillim Campaign

On January 10th, 2018, once again, for the 3rd year, thousands of men, women and children across the spectrum of Jewish communities throughout the world will unite for an auspicious day of tefillah and tzedakah for choilei yisroel. Tens of thousands of yidden will say - Choilei Yisroel - I'm here for you!

Neighborhood hosts will gather with their neighbors and friends to complete sefer tehillim and donate towards Kapayim, men in their workplaces and kollelim, children of all ages in their schools, yeshivos, and chadarim - to beseech rachmei shamayim for the kinderlach in our communities who suffer the effects of medical illness. Whether the patient is a child or parent - the entire family unit is affected. Kapayim says to choilei yisroel- I'm here for you, 365 days a year. Kapayim is there to ease the suffering, and enable the home to function as normally as possible. Kapayim sees the need, hears the silent (and not so silent) cries, and understands how desperately the tefillos are needed.

By sponsoring a sefer of tehillim the awesome powers of tefilla and tzedaka are combined, on a day that will surely bring yeshuos and refuos to all participants, and enable the dedicated members of Kapayim's vast network of shelichim to continue providing support for choilei yisroel in our communities every single day.

The zechus is double-fold!

How can one not say - Ribono shel Olam - I'm here for you!
